We are delighted to inform you of changes within the staffing of YMCA Ireland following the departure of Stephen Turner. The National Council has appointed Ivan McMahon as the new National Secretary for YMCA Ireland. Ivan will continue to be based on the Cork area but will have responsibility for the whole Island and should be your first contact on international matters.
Ivan qualified as a post-primary teacher and after a period in research joined the YMCA as a youth worker. He has had several roles in the organisation as Deputy National Secretary and he was responsible for supporting YMCA programmes and work in the Republic of Ireland.
In addition, John Peacock has been appointed Deputy National Secretary. John joins us after a long association with the YMCA Movement and leaves his present position of Academic Studies Manager, Course Leader: BA (Hons.) Degree in Youth & Community Work & Practical Theology with Youthlink NI to take up post January 1st. John will be based in Northern Ireland and will lead on Northern Ireland matters.
