8TH NATIONAL GENERAL SECRETARIES FORUM IN CLUJ-NAPOCA, ROMANIA

Over 20 participants took part in the NGS Forum held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania from 18th to 20th November.

This 8th edition of this annual meeting for YMCA Europe focused on the analysis of the present and future of our working platform as an initial step for our next Strategic Plan.

A few figures and contents of the meeting :

  • 9 programmatic and structural updates were shared with the NGSs as part of YMCA Europe developments in 2019
  • 1 presentation with updates on Movement Strengthening and the work of its Committee created in 2019
  • Facts and figures from the YMCA175 event held in London followed by feedback from the NGSs´s (will be added to the event´s evaluation report)
  • 74 proposals, initiatives presented by the different working groups at a working session (a first step before discussing the new Strategic Plan)
  • 3 presentations from national movements about relevant initiatives/programmes
  • Dialogue on the new National Contribution fees to be adopted at the 2020 General Assembly in Brussels
  • 2 devotions connecting the role of NGSs with the YMCA identity
  • Update by the World Alliance Secretary-General (via skype)
  • Update by YE Officer in Brussels (via skype)
  • 1 visit hosted by IKE and cultural experience in Cluj Napoca and presentations from YMCA in Romania on the reality of the movement and country.

We deeply thank YMCA in Romania and IKE in Cluj, Transylvania and Diakonia for the warm hospitality during the stay at this NGS Forum.
